A-Ga-Ming golf resort - Traverse City

A-Ga-Ming resort north of Traverse City in Kewadin, Mich., has debuted the new Sundance golf course to compliment its original course, the Torch.

These two Jerry Matthews designs serve up a stunning contrast between the classic and modern era of course design. The Torch is short and tight, the Sundance is longer and wide open, owing in large part to its youth: The heather still hasn't grown out in many places, and you can spray drives just about anywhere. The Torch has the finest views on the property and, at least for now, has more character as well, especially on the stretch from No. 7 to No. 10.
