Schuss Mountain golf course at Shanty Creek Resorts - Bellaire, Michigan
The Schuss Mountain golf course is one of four courses at the three-village Shanty Creek Resorts in Bellaire, Michigan.
It's a classic, northern Michigan golf course built in the mid-1970s by Michigan architect William Newcomb. While it doesn't feature slopes and elevation changes as severe as many of the modern northern Michigan courses like Shanty's Legend and Cedar River, it does have some roll on many holes as well as a few elevated tee boxes, especially on the back nine - which features more peaks and valleys along with added hole variety.
It does feature a modern-day championship length, however, at over 6,900 yards from the back tees.
