- For a local course, I like this course - or, really, these two courses. The front 9 is wide open and, except for a couple of holes, fairly flat. The back 9 is in the woods and requires some serious hill climbing. (I like to walk courses whenever I can and always walk at the Crown). A year ago I would have ranked the course higher. Now they've upped the cost to $59 with a cart and $45 walking. Both strike me as ridiculous. You can play many area courses that are far nicer for less money. I find the $45 walking particularly insulting.Worst run golf course in Traverse City. Anne is rude to everyone, especially members. Do yourself a favor and play somewhere else.this course is the most beautiful course i ever played.very interesting holes.very green.the staff was excellent.I would rate this course six stars.anybody going to traverse city has to play this course.My brother from colorado said it was the nicest course he had played .
