Designed for excellence and challenging golf! Mr. Kauffman’s his wife, Margret Galbraith Kauffman assisted in all aspects of the design and business! When Fred died suddenly in April, 1987. Margaret stepped up and ran the business. They were a team, who worked hard and built the business that lives on!

I basically had the EXACT scenario as Scott above. I had my 75 yr old father,my wife, and my 16 yr old daughter. But we had NO ONE behind us the ENTIRE rd! The "owner" met us on the 9th hole and told us we were taking too long that he needed to leave to take his son home!

Fairview Hills has one of the most friendly staffs I have ever dealt with. I took my little brother golfing for his birthday, during out vacation up north. The course was very busy once we got there, and we didn't have a tee time. Thankfully, the owner was nice enough, to squeeze us in. He even played the full nine with us!
The course was in very good shape, and I will never forget the Willow Tree on hole 6. Beautiful landscape, and surprisingly, quite challenging!
THANK YOU FAIRVIEW HILLS (and their owner), for saving my day and my little brothers birthday!
That Scott, in the reviews, must be nuts!

I played this course today and found it to be in execellant shape and very well manicured. This was not my first time golfing here. We play here every time we come up north. We've always been treated very well by all the staff and will continue to be very supportive of this beautiful course. My husband and I would recommend Fairview Hills as the number 1 golf course to play in northern Michigan. Kudos to the owners on such a well maintained course that is always in tip top shape.

Fairview Hills is a terrible golf course. I would highly recommend that you avoid going there.

The course was in horrible condition and the people are unbelievably rude.

They scheduled our three foursomes for a 9:15am tee time and a golf league was scheduled to begin at 10:00am.

Our group was playing as fast as we could and the course owners approached us on the fourth hole saying that we needed to play faster or skip holes and play them later.

We ended up skipping two holes and they wouldn't allow is to replay them because they were too busy.

The people didn't care about our circumstances. They said that their business wouldn't be hurt if the twelve of us never came back. They told us that they are in business to make money and they didn't care about their customers.

Our kids (ranging from 12-16 years old) were with us along with my 77 year old Father.

The course owners and staff were an incredible disappointment and they were an embarrassment to themselves.
