Timber Ridge Golf Club in East Lansing is 10 minutes -- and a world away -- from MSU
EAST LANSING, Mich. -- Timber Ridge Golf Club is only a 10-minute drive from Michigan State University's sprawling campus, but it seems a lot farther than that when you get to the golf course.
This is anything but a bustling, crowded scene. Instead, you get a golf course in the trees with some unexpected elevation change. The first tee presents an 80-foot drop to the fairway below, and the hole unfurls to a tucked away green from there.
That's only the start of a show of hills and trees at a Jerry Matthews design that doesn't try to kill average golfers with excessive length or greens fees.
