FORCED TO BREATH CHEMICALS WHILE GOLFING!! My friend Tom and I like to go to new courses so I thought he might like The Links at Whitmore Lake since he had never been there. As a member of the Golf Association of Michigan he even had a coupon to use. First, the pace of play was very slow with groups of 2 (not 4) and there were no rangers around. Second, it was in the 90s and there were no cart girls to offer an alternative to hard tasting course water. The kicker was when THEY STARTED SPRAYING CHEMICALS RIGHT IN FRONT OF US ON THREE SUCCESSIVE FAIRWAYS! Tom said his nose and throat were irritated and that he was quitting after 9 holes. I talked to the Asst Mgr and the Superintendent and they said that no one else was complaining about the chemicals. No apology, just sorry that Tom felt bad. (So go ahead and poison me if I don't complain?!?!) Then they said that It had to be done while we were golfing because the grass might die if they waited until the next morning (no lie). Finally the real reason came out from the Super "Am I supposed to pay overtime to have guys do it tomorrow morning(Sat) ??" IF THEY ARE WILLING TO SPRAY CHEMICALS ON A WINDY DAY DURING PLAY IT MAKES YOU WONDER ABOUT THE FOOD, THE WATER, AND EVERYTHING ELSE THAT COULD HURT GOLFERS!!!
