Lake Forest is a good golf course - fun to play, if not overly challenging (but watch out for #12!), and reasonably priced. There are better courses in the area but I play there fairly frequently for the convenience.

Course is enjoyable enough. Greens are nice. The downside is they have too many very short par 4's.

First time we have played this course. Even in late October, everything was very well maintained. Challenging, but still had plenty of holes where beginners could have a lot of fun. Very nice course.

Great greens, well maintained tees and fairways as well. Great rates, especially for the area. Don't read too much into the course or try to dissect the course as a whole. Both nines are distinct, and each offer a nice collection of holes. One or two quirky holes, yet, a tough and fair track. You can get beat up at times if you miss on the wrong holes, but nice not having homes and condos on every hole (a la stonebridge).

since i work at lake forest i hear lots of customers talk about the course. the very first thing that comes out is THE GREENS..... they love the greens. fast and in good shape. you have a links front nine. up north back nine. what courses will give you both types at the same time.
give it a try. starters like me hear a lot from the golfers.
