Quail Ridge Golf Club
8375 36th St SEQuail Ridge Golf Club sprawls across 300 acres of rolling hills just east of Grand Rapids. The expansive course provides plenty of room on each hole. Raymond Hearn, a Michigan native, designed the unique layout, seamlessly combining links-style holes and tree-lined holes for variety. The golf course is challenging with strategically placed bunkers and elevation changes coming into play but they are balanced by more player-friendly elements including generous fairways and ample landing areas. Water doesn't have a particularly prominent role but the high fescue that borders the fairways offer plenty of challenges. Quail Ridge Golf Club's greens are large and undulating, with one of the best examples being on the 17th. The green on this par 3 has two tiers that differ dramatically in elevation and neither tier is very visible from the tee, making pin placement extremely important.
