Northern Michigan cities are home to a plethora of regional airports. Gaylord, the self-proclaimed Summer Golf Capital of America is ten minutes from Ostego County Airport. The biggest airport up north however is Traverse City's Cherry Capital Airport which offers service to over 300 destinations including several international and is an hour east of Gaylord.
Detroit is a little over 200 miles from the largest airport in the state, Detroit Metro Airport. The second largest, Gerald R. Ford International Airport is 190 miles away from Gaylord.
Gaylord is accessible via I-75 north to M-32 East. To get to Traverse City on the west coast of Michigan, take I-31 all along the coastline. From metro Detroit, take I-75 north for 200 miles to I-72 west.
