Detroit is serviced by two international airports, Detroit Metro and Detroit City Airport. Detroit Metro is the biggest, most convenient airport in the area, especially after adding a new terminal recently to service its main tenant, Northwest Airlines. Metro Airport is located ten minutes west of downtown Detroit on I-94.

I-94 and I-96 both funnel into downtown Detroit. From the southwest, take I-94 and from the northwest cities of Lansing, Grand Rapids and Brighton, I-96 is a straight shot. From Ohio, I-75 shoots through downtown as well continuing on to the northern suburbs in Oakland County.

From Canada, the 401 runs along the international border runs right into Detroit's southern neighbor, Windsor. From Windsor you can take either the tunnel or the bridge. If traffic is heavy, especially during summer weekends, the bridge will save considerable time at customs.
