Shepherd's Hollow Golf Club in Clarkston
Located in Clarkston north of Detroit, Shepherd's Hollow Golf Club is continually ranked as one of the best public golf courses in Michigan since opening in 2000.
The 27-hole course designed by Arthur Hills sits on 350 acres owned by the Jesuits and the terrain is property that you'd be more likely to find in northern Michigan over southeast Detroit. Most holes tumble up and down, including a fair amount of elevated tees and greens, and most are lined with tall trees. The golf course is plenty tough, playing a maximum combination distance of over 7,200 yards.
Shepherd's Hollow Golf Club also features a large clubhouse with a restaurant and upstairs private lounge, plus full locker room facilities. There is also a complete practice facility.
