L.E. Kaufman Golf Course - Grand Rapids
L.E. Kaufman Golf Course is one of the Grand Rapids area's municipal golf gems. A circa-1960s Bruce Matthews design, this playable but interesting course still sees more rounds than almost any other in the area.
It's a local favorite, and not just for the price tag (green fees top out at $42 including cart). Few people expect greens this good at a muni - Kaufman's putting surfaces challenge those of private Egypt Valley Country Club for the title of best in the area. The signature 13th hole runs along the back of the property and is wooded on both sides. All the par 5s are short and greenable in two.
