About
Editor's Note: Course closed for business in 10/2019.
Silver Lake Country Club originally opened in 1925 as a nine-hole golf course. The back nine was added a few years later and soon after the course served as host to one of the first professional tournaments in the state. The ever-evolving golf course underwent a complete redesign in 1992 and in 2014 it was opened to the public. Silver Lake's layout sprawls across rolling hills, dappled with mature trees and edging along the shores of its namesake lake. The scenic landscape will challenge golfers with varied undulations ranging from subtle to dramatic. Water comes into play on several holes and while the bunkering may be sparse, the strategic placement along the greens will make you think carefully about your approach. Silver Lake Country Club is a layout that is player friendly enough for beginners and juniors but from the back tees, it also has appeal for seasoned golfers.

good for any level golfer
I played the course two days after torrential rain. The course was still very wet. Since we can't control Mother Nature, I'm not penalizing the course. For the most part, this course is wide open and would be fair for any golfer.
Great Time On The Course
Enjoyed the attitude of the service.
Course in great shape.
Green speed is increasing and getting better and better.
great greens
The course was in great shape, enjoyed it, wish there was some kind of yardage marker (maybe I missed it) to the hazard on hole 9, dropped a shot there. If you slice the ball you will enjoy that hole... Nice course, great staff, good golf experience...
Nice Golf Course
I thought the course was in good condition. The greens rolled pretty good not real fast but not real slow either. I will play their again.
good conditions
I liked the price point. No wow factor here. I thinks its good basic golf. Old style course and average conditions..
Okay for the money
Great old course design with solid greens overall other then being slightly slow. The fairways and rough left much to be desired lack of mowing and proper chemical treatments. Overgrown weeds in rough, sprouting fairway grass making the play some what unenjoyable. All in all it was okay for the money maybe slightly over priced at $29 for 18 holds and a cart.
Good value
Glad to see this course on GolfNow. I grew up playing this course, and it is one of the easiest courses to walk, I have routinely walked it in under 3.5 hours. It has an enjoyable mix of challenging and easy holes. I always enjoy playing golf here.
Cramped layout
I decided to play here because I got a very cheap deal through GolfNow. Pace of play was very slow and we had to wait to tee off at every hole. The course layout was very tight with holes almost on top of each other, as well as several holes appeared to be laid out almost identical to each other. We also felt the golf carts were underpowered and had a hard time making it up some of the terrain with hills. I would only golf here again if I got a low rate, I feel the normal rate is more than this course is worth.
4 hours of my life I would pay to have back
Do yourself a favor and go play golf someplace else. I have never reviewed a course in my life. I fell like this is more of a warning than a review. This IS NOT a golf couse. Go play somewhere you can have fun and respect the game.
this course is playable for all skill levels
I played this course b4 as a private club. the club is not taking care of the course as prior. For the money that was charged, it was a fair value. It may be better later in the summer, but needs work.
Great Overall Golfing Experience
Excellent course...first time we played it and would definitely love to goback...staff was great...Matt the Pro was very friendly and informative about the course for us first timers.
Greens were in great shape and fairways were good. This course had enough variety to offer a good challenge to low handicappers but still be a fun course for those folks who hit a lot more shots per round.
