Very fun course to play
This course is not the most difficult course, nor the best kept I have played on, but it is certainly a fun course to take my friends out to play. I play here often and the staff is always friendly and the drinks are very reasonably priced. The only thing that bothers me is that even with a good drive or lay-up shot right down the middle of the fairway, many times you end up on a hill at strange angles. I like the hills in the course, but there are so many of them that it becomes a chore at times. I feel like if I hit a great shot down the middle I shouldn't have to worry that often about what angle the hill my ball landed on is at.
Great Test of Golf.
Braeside will test your game, having played many tournaments
and a regular "trunk slammer" rotation, Braeside has a mix of it all
with 18 as a tough test Par 4 as the #1 handicap hole. With true greens, it's always a pleasure to play a one of a kind course.

This course is fun layout
This is a public golf course. The greens that are in shade are not so good. The tee boxes were in rough shape. For the money it is a fun layout that will challenge you off the tee to keep straight. The greens were medium speed but the ones in the sun rolled better.
Good conditions, outstanding value
Great fairways and greens, very playable.
On the minus side, the low price draws some hackers, play still moved along, rangers kept on eye on things.
Much improved all around from a few years ago!
Great for the money.
Compared to other courses in the area this course is a good value. It's not the best maintained but the layout doesn't really allow it to be. The back nine is in really good shape and is pretty long compared to the front. Overall this is a top 10 course in the area at its price point.
basic golf course.
All basic grass fairways. No real definition. Wear your hard hat the holes go back and forth very close. Got bombed a couple of times. I played with a friend that wanted to play there because it was not expensive. You get what you pay for.
Greens are in great shape.
Course overall was in great shape. Greens were very nice well maintained.
Great experience
Greens rolled true - very good shape good speed. Fairways cut nice.
Good value
Braeside has an interesting design and great prices. It is easy to bring less experienced golfers to but also has some challenges for better golfers to stay interested.
VERY SLOW, NO RANGER, NOT IN GREAT SHAPE
Course was not in great shape. Sprinklers kept coming on on tee boxes and greens, and were saturating parts of the course. VERY SLOW PLAY, NO RANGER. Cart paths need a lot of work, greens were in decent shape.
Great Value
Although a bit of a drive for me, It is well worth it. the course plays fair, and is well maintained. The holes are visually interesting and quite picturesque. The greens are receptive and roll true, but are fast. All in all, this is becoming one of my favorite area courses in my budget.
Great course always fun
Course was in the best shape I have seen it in years
Nice place, needs some work
Used to be one of my favorite courses to play up in Grand Rapids. However, just played it in July 2013 and the tee boxes and greens were rock hard and in need of some watering / aeration. And the gnats/bugs on and around the course were really, really bad to the point of distracting you from playing golf. Hopefully they can find a way to correct these issues and get this course back into shape.
Very enjoyable. Nice variety of holes
I played on a Saturday afternoon, and after a medium wait to tee off the pace of play was great. I'm sure I used all my clubs, and some of the downhill holes made me fell like a monster driver. The tee boxes could use some attention, and a little better signage would have saved me some embarassment. The back nine seemed a little better cared for, but my overall experience was great. GPS is advertised but is only on your smartphone, not on the cart.
