Good value
Despite cool October winds and many leaves, course was in pretty good shape as always.
good course
Good course. Not too hard but narrow fairways. Some nice hills. Fun place to play.
This course has a lot of potential.
We had a very nice day to play. My son and I thought that the yardage was off on some of the holes. Greens were sneaky fast and had subtle breaks that were hard to read. All in all we had a great time. Looking forward to coming back.
cart directions and bunkers
coming up to greens I would like to see a direction for carts to follow to the next tee. Bunkers have stones about the size of golf balls and many near half that size. But nice layout and fun to play
Nice course
I have played some of the best courses in the nation. This one is well maintained and has a couple difficult holes. Very hilly. Paid $10 per person with cart for 18 with the golfnow app. Worth the money.
Below average
Hard pan all over and no idea where you are headed. Tee boxes in bad shape
Back 9 has some beautiful & challenging holes
Have played here several times over the past 2 years. Conditions are pretty good, but have been better.
The back 9 has a much nicer layout than the front.
Price was right and faily close to home. Speed of play was very good.
It use to be way better...
I use to play Braeside all the time (multiple times a week) about 10+ years ago. The course conditions were considerably better back then. You can always count on at least one or two holes under some stage of construction that makes that hole virtually unplayable. Under watering now makes many of the fairways pretty hard. Much of their cliental is a younger and disrespectful crowd. The course can become a bachelor party real quick, and I'm not sure I've ever seen a marshal on the course. All of this leads to a fairly disappointing time on this course. It's unfortunate, because the layout is really pretty fun for a public course. If they could get it together, it could be a really great place to play.
Gridlock + no adult supervision = aggravation
Booked on GolfNow because of the nice rate. Looks like everybody and their brother did too because it took us a good 5 hours to get through our round.
The course itself has plenty of mature trees, undulating fairways, a few water holes and sand guarding nicely maintained greens.
The annoying 3-some of young a-holes was an extra nice feature. As if their constant yelling and carrying on weren't bad enough, every golfer in the vicinity was treated to the sound of locked-up, screeching tires as these fools announced their arrival at the next tee box. With this type of clientele, Braeside could become just another low-end municipal course. I guess it's OK, if this is their objective.
Wow. Great little course. Perfect for the price.
I really enjoyed this course. First time I've played it. Not for those who only want to play the tips from the longest courses. I thoroughly enjoyed the tips from this course. Tight fairways. Open off the fairways, so you won't lose all your balls. A few holes over water. Their 150 posts were spot on. Bunkers were clean, tees were sanded and were great for a public course. Greens were amazingly good and very smooth for a Saturday afternoon. Great for any of their prices. Very friendly staff.
Braeside the beautiful
Having not been at this course, in four years, I was pleased to find several improvements had been made to the clubhouse area and outdoor aesthetics.
It poured down rain as we played the 8th, hole, and we had to take an hour rain break. Once we returned to the course, we saw the grounds crew right out there, with squeegies on the greens. I'll be back soon.
green
The greens were in really good shape. Plays was a little slow but it was father's day so it was expected.
Good value
Played for extremely cheap twice and it was excellent for the price. The holes were on top of each other but had decent elevation and maintained greens. One of the better values I've played so far. $10 for 18 with the hot deal.
Fun course!
Thoroughly enjoyed playing this course. The fairways were very nice. Greens were extremely hard and not very receptive, so you were better off playing for the front edge and letting the ball release.
The yardages seemed to be off as my playing partner and I were hitting a full club, to a club and a half, longer than normal. Our 150 yd. clubs were going 160-165 in the air consistently, according to yardage markers. All in all, enjoyed the round and we will play it again.
Nice Course
In great condition for April. Greens really fast. Average value for the money. Staff always friendly and let's kids golf free.
The greens were awesome.
The course plays tough when you go astray, as it should. The greens were great, true and fast.
Greens Need Work
Greens were hard as a rock and it looked like the cups hadn't been changed in a week. The course used to be nice but it seems they are letting it go.
Outstanding value
Braeside has been a secret delight for many people. Great value, nicely maintained but fairways are not always lush everywhere on the course. So that is reflected in the price. Bunkers are not soft, many bumps and hills and dales, water. Greens are fine, medium fast, and usually tricky. No whole is easy: if putting is easy, then there's fairway trickery. This will challenge the best golfer, even though there are no black tees. So what. Hit your 3 iron then. This remains my go-to
