Grand View Golf Course in New Era is one of northwest Michigan's best values, offering both a challenging design and spectacular views. The course sprawls across rolling hills sprinkled with mature trees. The dramatic elevation changes off the tee and approaches lead to the subtly undulating, medium-sized greens, which are flanked by contoured mounding. The sparse bunkering is understated but the challenge comes from their strategic placement. Water comes into play on only two holes but there are nearly 40 sand traps lurking greenside or along the landing zones off the fairways. One of the water holes is the par-3 eighth, which is the golf course's signature. It has a green that is almost entirely surrounded by water. Though there are some significant changes in elevation, the tee areas are only a short distance from the green complexes, making Grand View a nice walking course.

- Love this course. Challenging, but not a super hard course. Love the surrounding countryside. I would recommend to anyone to play this course, you won't be disappointed.I was not expecting much having not heard a great deal about this course. My buddy and I like to play a lot of golf. GV has a all day rate which is why we decided to go there. I was pleasantly surprised!! I really liked it. Nice shape great small greens. Course had a nice flow. Don't expect destination course but I do recommend for a very nice round of golf. Very nice people, easy to get to. I would recommend playing if in the area.
