Delightful course for beginners, retirees, and couples out for a social round. Conditions were better than most 2 or 3 star munis. Greens were in great shape, putting true but a bit slower than we are used to.
    Will return another day.

I grew up playing this course. The layout is interesting, with several tees going over water and many dog legs. There is little elevation change or bunkers, which takes away from some visual appeal and difficulty, but the tree-lined fairways create a challenge on every hole. The course is typically in moderately-good condition, but the value makes playing this course worth it.

We played this course last Friday and really enjoyed it. The biggest improvement is that they trimmed the trees along the fairways so you can get to your ball without losing it. The fairways were cut shorter than the rough which rewarded straight tee shots. The greens were rather slow but true. Just enough difficulty and water to challenge most levels. A few tee boxes were rough and not cut which prevents a five star rating from me. Club staff is friendly but the clubhouse is ordinary. Practice facility's short but ok for warmup. We will be back because it a very good value the price.

This is one of my favorite courses. Just a great course to play on windy days. Only around the clubhouse holes does it get windy.
I am a high handicapper and yet every hole is reachable, in regulation, for me. So it is not a long course, yet it is tight enough a make it challenging enough without being ridiculous. It Is has has some, quite fair, water holes too.
The only bad thing, IMO, is, the nines should be reversed. As it is now, the front nine begins with the most difficult three holes on the entire course. That is just not a nice way to begin a round.
Reverse the nines, as it should be, then the most challenging three holes would be on the back nine, where golfers would be warmed up before they got to them, and not facing them at very first three holes they play all day.
Yes, the greens tend to be a tad slow. That is true. If you need fast greens to enjoy golf, you may be disappointed.
In windy ole West Michigan, this place can be a happy retreat!

In very nice shape this year (2014). I find it to be a challenge with fairly tight fairways and just the right amount of water make you think. The greens are a little slow but for my game that's fine. The carts are a little rough and the clubhouse is just OK giving it the appearance of being an average course. But once actually out on the fairways, it picks up it's game. I give it a 4 out of 5 stars.
