Gem of Western MI
This course makes me wish I could play every day. Conditions are country club-like but the course is not exclusive, the layout is challenging but will leave you coming back for more (so long as you survive the 11th hole without too many lost balls), and both the staff and facilities are top-notch. The pace of play has always been good when I play here, too. If you can play this course, do it.
I have coming to Ludington for 15 years and have played LH many times. It is always in excellent condition. The course is very "user-friendly" but you still have to hit every shot in the bag.
This course has a great layout
Beautiful layout and reasonable holes for any golfer. Very tight but makes you use every club in the bag.
Great hidden gem outside Ludington State Park
Wow was I impressed by this golf course. Their website doesn't have a ton of information about the course and even fewer photos. You get an up north course with fast, hilly greens and great views. If you look closely, you can see Lake Michigan from #10 tee.
The course was in amazing shape. Well manicured tee to green!!! Lush green fairways and greens.
The layout will allow you to get around the course without driver, so if you are hitting it wayward, hit 2-iron. You will still have a short iron or wedge into the green.
I would say the course is great for beginners and advanced players. Beginners won't be overwhelmed with length and advanced players will be challenged with wedge shots into slope-y greens :) HIGHLY RECOMMENDED
Excellent course and friendly staff
Course was in great shape. Play was a little slow but improved in back 9. Greens roll true and very well maintained. Country club quality and atmosphere. Pro shop staff was very friendly and accommodating. Will go back again. Overall wonderful experience, just wish I golfed better.
Nice course
The front 9 was fairly easy but the back 9 kicked my butt. I was hoping for better views of Lake Michigan being so close to the water. But very nice course.
Best in Ludington
Having played every other course within 20 minutes of Ludington I will say this is the BEST. Just play it from the blues or the tips if you are an above average golfer.
Return to my youth
Lincoln Hills is where I learned the game as a caddy many years ago so I knew the course as it was then.
Had not played it in many years especially since a 're-do' about 6-8 yrs. ago. Played it 3 out of 4 days on July 2, 3, & 5th.. The course was in veery good condition. The only surprising thing was that they obviously gave the grounds crew the 3rd off because from the 2nd to the 3rd the greens (really slick on the 2nd) had not been mowed nor the cups changed as well as tee markers. Overall, a very nice experience, tho.
what a gem
Challenging layout, interesting greens, excellent condition. Any golfer would enjoy the experience.highly recommended.
Great time, good memories
Have played this course now 3 times. A nice track at a nice price. Great greens.
Afternoon Round
This course was in excellent shape. Greens had good speed. Traps groomed well and grass full. The course is short but really let's you unload with your irons. I highly recommend this course.
