Shadow Ridge Public Golf Course

Never realize this course was open to the public until about a month or two ago because it was the Ionia country club private so once I found out it was open to the public in a Donald Ross design we set our sights on it and we were not disappointed. The front nine is the Rollinghills former name of course and it has lotta elevation change the first few holes and then it opens up and it’s a pretty nice night with absolutely no sand traps so you could probably score very well here but then the back nine is a real treat, the Donald Ross design character comes out on every hole. He just knew what he was doing that guy just so much character play it from the Tips it’s only 3000 yards but it’ll give you everything you need 242 yard par 3 second hole and just a lot of elevation change she wouldn’t think it was gonna be there so anyway yeah this course is built in 1916 around the world war one and believe it or not so get out here and help keep this place going because I will be back. The old trees are awesome. They should be great when the they turn in the fall so get out here patronize this place enjoy a Donald Ross public course.

This was my firs time playing this 9 here. This classic Ross Designed 9 holes is a gem. The course was well kept, clean and a challenge. Greens were undulating and fairly fast. I has been dry with little rain in weeks and the course was nice. Fairways were soft enough to divot and the greens would ball mark. Just a good old fashioned golf course with an interesting layout. Newer electric golf cart was clean and in great shape. Will defiantly play here again. My only recommendation would be to put ball/club washers on your carts. I have to say Great job to Shadow Ridge on maintaining an old course

I played the 9 holes across the street. The "Rolling Hills 9" This is my first time playing here. The place looked well cared for. The greens rolled true and pretty slow for how dry its been. The fairway could take a proper divot for mid summer. I would recommend this course if you are in the area. The cart was clean and looked pretty new. I will play here again

Nice nine hole course, has narrow fairways and alot of slopes you will either be hitting up to or down to a green. Greens can be quite difficult with grades on the greens.
