Jewel of Grand Blanc - Onyx Course

Greens are in bad shape, with many dead spots abs very bumpy. Tee boxes uneven. Greens tough to hit from

Fairways very bumpy, rough too long for temps lately. Greens very slow, cups weren't cut in a while.

I heard the course was not in good shape, but I thought I would give it a try. The layout is decent. The pro shop worker was friendly and tried to put me through two threesomes. There was no starter and the three golfers proceeded to hit 8 tee shots between them on the first tee box and after going back to the pro shop he called the starter who eventually drove out there and there was no change. Eventually, this group made a wrong turn on the course and the play was much better after that. The course is not in very good shape, but it has potential. The greens were extremely slow and bumpy. This course is worth playing if you are working on your game and with some TLC, it could really be a Jewel. The price is right.

It's sad to see the Onyx in such sad shape. Fairways not mowed, tee boxes pathetic, such a good course just tossed away. This needs to be shutdown and rebuilt, or sold to a developer.

Was told about the issues with the course prior and frankly didn't see anything that concerned me. Maybe I am just not that picky.

Course should have provided pull along carts. Long course to be walking. Holes 13;14;15 feels like two mile or more from club house. JMO

Played this course a few times and typically enjoy my rounds although it’s not really a walkable course. Last time out had some issues.

Had to dodge sprinklers on the greens on at least two greens and maintenance staff on various holes throughout the round and we teed off after 8 am. That’s not acceptable even for a cheap price.

Golf league teed off on 1 at the turn and staff didn’t keep the league out of our way (not a big deal except there were literally guys hitting practice balls in the fairway and tee boxes on 10.....).

All in all you get what you pay for so I recommend it if you don’t want to spend more for a nicer course.

Was not a lot of people on the course. Greens were in good shape.a lot of bumpy spots. Tee boxes were not that great. Paid 14 bucks and a 3 hr round I would say good value.

This course has really gone downhill.
Most fairways are hard and it is sometimes necessary to move the ball to somewhere green (not even grass but weed)
Fairway cutting sometimes digs into the turf. Many greens have brown areas. Many tee boxes are hard. Difficult to get tee in.
The diamond course was in better condition a few weeks ago.
I have played other courses recently in much better shape. I will not be going back here even with a hot deal.

Played here a few times. Can't beat the deal you get on this on golf now. My major complaint is they left the grass clippings on the course. They were extremely long as if maybe they trimmed back some of the overgrowth swamp stuff. Its also very bumpy so the dead grass would pile up in the holes. No lie lost like 2-5 balls in the fairway. But for 4!2 on golf now you cant beat it

The course was in rough shape. Tee boxes were not well kept. We were unfortunately on the course the same time as the Tuesday morning senior league. They made it blatantly obvious that they did NOT want anyone else on “their” course. The lone positive is that the gentleman working in the pro shop was very friendly. He offered a refund or raincheck which was a nice gesture.
