We come up every year from South Carolina to play Elk Ridge. This is as good as golf gets.
And I always considered the staff as nice.
Will be back up there in 3 weeks.

I just read the reviews on here and agree with the first gentleman's comment on the staff. Not friendly and rude. Their motto on their golf card is inaccurate as it states they want you to have a enjoyable golf experience. Which it was not! It is no wonder why the course was empty and no one golfing. I would stay away from this course until they learn to honor their patrons and understand what the term "enjoyable" means in this thing we call life. Pretty unfortunate..

They might as well just take your money and ask you to leave the place. I had planned for a group of 12 guys to play this course in the early afternoon as it was one of our stops for the weekend which we honor the memory of a son who lost the battle to cancer a few years ago.

The course is actually in great shape and challenging. We had a wide range of golf skills in our group as it is a family and friends kind of fun. We were looking to enjoy our day. Pulling into the parking lot there is hardly anyone in the place, which was kind of surprising (well in the end we know why) We check in a 1/2 hour early and guys are impressed with the pro shop, lobby, eating areas etc.. We acquire our libations and head to the tee. We are off and at the end of the 2nd hole the last foursome in our group is being pushed by the ranger. He was definitely rude and not friendly. He suggested we play from the whites and not the blues. We asked him if he knew what he was talking about cause our whole group was already playing from the whites. He then tried to argue about some USGA time of play and the clocks they have around the course. He hounded our group for the next two holes where we were about to pack it in and request our money back and leave the place. Keep in mind there is only a 6-some we see on the course and NO one else. Are 3 foursomes teed off between 1:30-2 and had no one behind our last foursome. Luckily he didn't talk to us anymore, but simply kept driving around our group. All our group finally finishes about 7-7:30 - so yes a long round, but it was with 4 seniors over 60, 5 guys between 50-60 and 3 between 47-49. Again the course is not the issue it is with the golf course management and staff. When we were trying to leave, they had already locked the clubhouse and only the ranger was left at the site. No one could use the rest room before our hour trek back to where we were staying. Again, pretty unfortunate and we will not be returning to play this course any time in the future.

Rudest staff I have ever come accross, especially the manager of the course. I would not recommend this course to anyone so they are no subjected to the same type of treatment I received. Your money will be appreciated elsewhere folks!
