Ann Arbor Country Club originally opened in 1928. The traditional layout is shorter than most modern golf courses but it shouldn't be underestimated. A variety of hazards come into play including a network of streams that weave through the layout. The golf course is mostly open but there are a few patches of dense woods to contend with. The small, crowned greens will challenge even the most advanced players. They play fast and they're usually elevated or guarded by bunkers or trees. You'll encounter a few blind shots but they'll be the least of your worries. You're quickly introduced to the golf course's difficulty with tough back-to-back par 5s as the opening. The layout has several unique hole designs that will test your creative shot making skills and your ability to think strategically.

Great fun! A rea l gem hidden in the middle of a pleasant residential community. While fun it off.ers challenges you will not find at most Michigan courses with rolling fairways on front nine with the creek in play on most every other shot on front nine. The back nine is more open with gre at views of every green. Course is surprisingly in good shape considering the draught and s umber heat.

    Also a. Great bargain!!

AACC is not your typical golf course in a subdivision development. Numerous greens cannot be seen off the tee. Our group enjoyed the layout, but hoped for better hole descriptions on the scorecard, or, at least a rough overhead map of the entire track. Have never opened a round with consecutive par 5' before. Hole #2' dogleg right, and right, and still more right reminded of a similar hole at the Huntmore.

The putting greens were average, with true reads and little trickery around the hole, but not without the ball bouncing half an inch along its path.

The tee boxes were in poor condition, as were most fairways on the front nine. Our cart's ride was the worst, and when we asked our partners if their cart had any spring issues, we found we were not alone. Reminiscient of riding the Mean Streak at Cedar Point. Yes, we were sore afterward.

The back nine seemed in better shape and was more golfer friendly with better tee to green views. Fairways and rough seemed lees like the grass in my yard.

The pro shop was stocked minimally, having "just run out" of logo balls. Lunch at the turn, however was excellent. The grill is shared with the pool club, and their menu is diverse. The stacked roast turkey on rye with everything was well worth the $5. Service from all was pleasant.

Decided to try this course, about a 35 minute drive from the Livonia area. Glad we golfed here, likely will not return. This course is "not that bad", but not the returnble gem we hoped for.
